Everyday cleaning
Clean gently and regularly with a soft, damp, lint-free cloth. Dusting frequently removes abrasive particles that can wear down the finish and ensures the wood always looks its best. Avoid harsh cleaning agents, polishes with silicones, or very wet cloths, as these can damage the surface. Always wipe in the direction of the grain and dry the surface completely.
Wipe up any spills immediately with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Sticky residues can be removed with a diluted solution of warm soapy water applied lightly with a clean sponge, followed by drying with a soft cloth in the direction of the grain. Never use very wet cloths or allow liquid to sit on the wood, as this can cause permanent damage. Avoid abrasive cleaners, harsh detergents, or polishes containing silicones, as these can harm the surface.
Wood responds to its environment: sunlight will gradually deepen or change its colour, particularly during the first months of use. To prevent uneven colouring or impressions from objects, leave larger surfaces uncovered initially and rotate decorative items periodically. Keep furniture away from direct sunlight, radiators, stoves, and other heat sources, and avoid rooms with large humidity fluctuations, as these can cause warping, cracking, or loosening of joints.
